Assistant Accountant position

This is your chance to join a growing Accounting firm located in North Parramatta. The ideal candidate has 1 – 2 years' experience. This full time position is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to expand their Accounting career.

The successful applicant who will join our team will be a person with:

  • Demonstrated experience assisting small to medium-sized businesses with all aspects of bookkeeping, in accordance with relevant Australian Tax and BAS legislation

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience in a busy office dealing with sensitive material

  • An empathetic, committed and trustworthy character

  • Office administration capabilities and IT savvy

     

    Duties include:

     

  • Accurately completing clients' source documentation for processing including bank reconciliations

  • Completing client income tax returns

  • Preparation of draft financial statements

  • Preparing Activity Statements to review stage

  • Proficient with Accountants Enterprise

  • Competent with programs such as MYOB & Xero

  • Strong Excel and Word skills;

  • Access ATO portal for client information and BAS lodgement.

October Events @ Blacktown College

 

Greetings everyone,

 

October is Mental Health MonthTo help encourage people to connect with others, the theme for Mental Health Month 2017 is: Share the Journey 

 

In support of this the Library, Counsellor and Disabilities Support have put together a program of events for staff and students.

 

Library display zones

This year the Library has 4 display zones.  Students and staff collect a ticket from Library staff then visit each zone.  When they have completed the journey of visiting all 4 zones, they return their ticket the library staff to claim a Relaxation inspired prize

 

The zones are:

Glass cabinets in library foyer

Self-help brochures outside Counsellors’ office

Men’s shed – books and brochures about men’s health

Mindfulness zone – relaxation, yoga, colouring in

 

Mental Health Discussions:

Led by Pamela Tighe, these are aimed at students, but staff are welcome to attend.

Wednesday 18th October 12:00pm

Thursday 19th October 1:00pm

Accountant – Undergrad / Graduate/Intermediate- Senior Intermediate

 

Position available in our Chartered Firm for a junior accountant.

 

If you are currently completing a university degree or TAFE diploma in accounting, or have recently completed your degree/diploma, or/and have 1-5  years plus experience working in public practice, then this role could be ideal for you.

 

This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate to develop their professional acumen, the focus of our practice is small to medium businesses,  taxation, superannuation,  compliance and business consultancy. We have an interesting and diverse client base.

 

Strong computer skills will assist you in this role, particularly, familiarity with Windows Word and Excel. A range of computer software applications are used in our practice, so the ability to learn quickly and become comfortable with different software is important. The applicant should have a good typing speed.

 

The role requires the candidate to work closely with the principal and managers of the practice. Good communication skills and a positive focus , the ability to take instruction and complete tasks as part of a team and independently, with a  can do attitude are essential.

 

Fulltime positions available in our Penrith office. Award wages or above negotiated according to experience. Preference given to locally based applicants within the Hawkesbury, Nepean & Blue Mountains area.
